AER Reva: Bariatric Rotational Mattress for Pressure Sore Prevention

The AER Reva is an alternating air mattress designed for bariatric patients, with automatic patient turning function to facilitate single-handed care. For care homes, hospitals and healthcare settings looking to reduce manual workload, the AER Reva range ensures efficiency.

This lateral rotation mattress creates a programmable bariatric bed system for improved pressure sore management, under the supervision of one carer instead of two or more. Product sizes include AER Reva 900 (90cm wide) and AER Reva 1200 (120cm wide).

For bariatric patients up to 455kg

While most lateral rotation beds and mattresses on the market are designed for patients up to 400kg, our range is suitable for users from 40kg through to 455kg (70 stone). It is also designed with side bolsters, ensuring safety and comfort.

By creating a defined perimeter, the side bolsters enhance stability for fall prevention, and they also reduce the need for manual intervention.

Adjust modes to fit your patient’s needs

Care teams can programme the pump, selecting the angle, direction and timing of turns based on the needs of the patient. This allows you to completely tailor pressure sore management for each individual.

The air cells gently and gradually turn the patient based on the timer, assisting with pulmonary blood flow and mucosal drainage.

On demand low air loss for moisture management

The AER Reva rotational mattress allows you to activate a high-volume airflow, as and when you need it. This function is ideal for patients with high risk of pressure ulcers — it keeps the surface of the mattress cool and dry, preventing overheating and providing active moisture control.

The airflow creates a microclimate, helping patients feel more comfortable and enjoy better quality sleep, while also preventing skin maceration and bed sores.

Split air cells for advanced pressure redistribution

Featuring a split-cell design, this bariatric alternating air mattress provides superior pressure redistribution.

By splitting the cells down the middle, the mattress can contour to the patient’s body and deliver enhanced support for the hips and back. The increased stability not only maintains targeted support during rotation, but it’s much better for the patient’s skin due to reduced sliding and friction.

Furthermore, the alternating motion of split cells works effectively at improving blood flow and protecting the sacral region, an area that is particularly vulnerable to pressure ulcers. For patients with very limited mobility, this can make a huge difference to both prevention and healing.

Firm or soft comfort settings

To help patients improve their quality of sleep, the AER Reva bariatric mattress allows operators to manually alter pressure in the cells. Select the ‘soft’ or ‘firm’ setting to adjust to patient needs.

Combined with split-cell design and the gentle and gradual turning function, this rotational mattress optimises comfort, support and dignity for patients.
